Danny Ings has admitted that he is looking forward to returning to the field for Liverpool, insisting his full recovering is “closer”.
Ings returned to pre-season training with the Reds earlier this week following a long lay-off after a serious knee injury.
After spending the last nine months recovering, the former Burnley man is ready to join up with Jurgen Klopp’s men for preseason.
“I’m doing really well at the moment. Timescale-wise, I’m unsure but I’m feeling closer and closer every day,” he told LiverpoolFC.com.
“I’m back doing ball work. My fitness levels are getting back, it has been a while. I’m enjoying it and I’m feeling strong.
“If you dwell on things too long, you’ll never make it back. You need to obviously be hurt for a while but then you need to get your head down, focus and crack on.
“That’s always been my mentality. There wasn’t really any other choice.”
